Hi,
Great music!
I have a wide variety of interests in the arts, sciences & humanities including Albanian culture. I read many books by Ismael Kadare. In the 1970's, I enjoyed listening to the songs on Radio Tirana on short wave due to the mix of Greek, Italian, Slavic, Turkish original Albanian themes. I knew that some these songs may have included Communist propaganda, but I didn't care as I don't understand the Albanian language. Two favorite songs were "Albanian mother" and "Bajram Curri" sung by Fatime Sokoli.
Presently I'm planning to write an article and eventually a book
on the transition of Albanian traditionalist songs to today's Albanian rock, rap, hip hop & other pop music genres. I'm asking all on this forum to provide me with information on this subject.
Thanks.
